[hometext] => A poem about the generations of victims of alcoholic abuse and closed hearts
[bodytext] => From under the covers, She hears the peace shatter, So little point hiding, From anger and beer. Like scarlet and crimson, The difference can't matter, So little point smiling, At father, my dear. Whiskey stain eyeballs, Explode with emotion, His delicate temper, Corrupted by fear. Ten battle-raw knuckles, Once, twice and over, Imposing his torture, Confirming his tears. Somehow she blossoms, As chains are all broken, A life spent achieving, No lover, no home. Her memories have painted, The sun, moon and oceans, No words need be spoken, As she is alone. Propped up on his bar stool, With hindsight, still bitter, His beauty has scattered, To far away lands. Numb mind long neglected, Like heirlooms left battered, Afraid and infected, With blood on his hands.
