that leads us both to places seen only in our dreams.
Our closed eyes and an open heart brings it all into sight,
although we both realize, nothing is as it seems.

There's a gentle touch, felt over many thousands of miles,
a whispered sigh as emotions floods our souls.
A twinge of pain at knowing, we'll never see each other's smiles,
or share in the fulfillment of our distant goals.

So we take our canvas sails, drift to a very special place,
that is only our's, calm and peaceful...a feeling of being free,
As I pretend I'm like a vision, dressed only in old lace,
and you imagining, that perhaps..this could really be.

As we share sunsets and thundering rolling clouds, this is the music that we hear,
gentle lapping waves that sway the boat that we call home,
and we hold each others hands to help anchor us from the many fears,
for this is the only way we will ever roam.

Even as the warm tear tends to fall, we must both say good-bye,
and the calm experienced is mixed with a quivering heart,
we'll not give up this dream....couldn't even if we try,
it will remain with us until one must eventually depart.

This is not meant to be a sad verse, only the truth of what we share.
hidden in darkness with our visions, that only we can see,
but content to realize we have found a soul mate, one who will deeply care,
as we both get tossed about at times...on life's angry sea.

That was so very beautiful, I lost myself in reading that. Well done.
