[hometext] => I wrote this a while ago and I don't know where it came from. I've never had these exact experiences but I believe it was about a friend at the time. It was my favorite at the time but I've done better since. Hope you enjoy it...oldstyle
[bodytext] => He promised me the moon and stars Then ended up behind bars She promised she would never leave me Then she died from chemotherapy Social services promised me a good family I ended up on streets that didn't end happily I promised myself I'd never do drugs Then exchanged them instead of friendly hugs My grandparents found me and promised I'd get better Then after years of therapy and recovering I wrote them this letter: Dear Grandma and Grandpa, All my life has been promises broken But your promise was the token The one that turned my life around Because of this I have found That trusting no one, not even myself Or Santa and his little elf Was the mistake that I had made Ever since I started third grade Now I know that I can trust you Because I know you make promises true Love(your grandchild and her mended heart), Miracle [comments] => 1 [counter] => 155 [topic] => 43 [informant] => desireemiote [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )
