keeping in step with you
erased all the past
blended into background
meaningless rubble
heaped in the corners
nothing to trip over
or stumble upon
keeping in step with you
ready and able
willing to please
bend over backwards
without question
expectations are nill
hope sits in my hip pocket
keeping in step with you
racing out ahead
taunt me if you will
there is little dignity
and more desire
in the weakness of flesh
corrupt and bankrupt
keeping in step with you
lead me off and away
without any reason
I follow blind and needy
for something I don't know
but you have it
and I want it
keeping in step with you
