Array ( [sid] => 3853 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Once life was clear, now it's hazy [time] => 2002-09-15 14:04:31 [hometext] => I am a native New Yorker. Lived here all my life. Sept 11th was a very difficult time for me. Yesterday, the FBI found a "terrorist cell", existing 30 minutes away from my hometown. Hense, this write. Sorry if it's choppy , or doesn't make any sense to you. [bodytext] => I've always prided myself on tolerance

Other religions, color and race

But with this latest revelation

It's been like a major slap in the face

I've always been basically trusting

Now I'm forced to change my view

Terrorists living among us

Trouble's REALLY beginning to brew

They were born in this fair country

Every freedom, allowed to enjoy

Brought up as American children

As adults, their intent to destroy

People say "Don't be so quick to judge"

That's not such an easy task

For years they've lived an ordinary life

Hiding their hatred behind a mask

I myself can't understand this hatred

So how do I explain it to my kids?

"Mom, why are they trying to hurt the innocent?"

"Isn't this something God forbids?"

I feel lost in this new lifetime of terror

Like a child needing to be led by the hand

No matter how much I try to analyze it

It remains something I can't understand

Is it that my mind is shutting down on me?

Am I an idiot, who can't comprehend?

I try to take each day as it comes

Feels like I'm gunna break before I bend

Life is always changing

But it will never feel the same

Finding terrorists living among us

Insecure is what I've became

I find life spinning out of control

At times I feel rather crazy

Familiar faces - friend or foe?

What was once clear is now hazy.
