Array ( [sid] => 37986 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Worth of A Man [time] => 2004-03-09 15:45:29 [hometext] => There is a recurring trend in the study of history for pedantic and sedentary intellectuals to breakup and deconstruct the legends and heroes of antiquity. While sometimes truth takes precedent I am somewhat despondent by this blasphemy. [bodytext] => What worth is a man
in the face of history
the records of his time
his life's pecularities

is he full of convictions
driven to destiny
or a product of conditions
lead on by opportunity

the weighing of the scales
does confound absolutely
for the measuring of tales
differs with individuality

annals of the past
a constant ambiguity
his reasons and repast
are buried indefinately

at the counting of the years
a tally of his deeds
for the sum total that appears
is he did what he did

ask not the motivation that drives a man
its the same by intention as it is by chance
what matters most in the very end
his leap into fate in the face of circumstance. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 313 [topic] => 43 [informant] => baronhawk [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

In three words-hyphenated?
Excellent and well-rounded.
Here's another one -

I really like this. It gives a girl a different perspective on a man/boy/w.e and it tells how the world changes, despite what a man does. You should write one about women, although we are all "men of the world".

Unless it would totally change the way we life on this earth for the better, I say let the legends live. Why does everything have to be shredded? Do we not deserve any heroes?
