Thinking of words to write
Many hours have past
And my family has said good night

The light shining from behind
A shadow stretching out to my front
I find myself hitting backspace
Giving out another grunt

Sometimes words can be
Very difficult to catch from a thought
The poetry I write is better then being bought

Searching for a topic
kind of puts me in a daze
A topic that starts with glory
And ends with a faze

They say it is a talent
Not every body has
When people tell me this
I feel myself spaz

It just feels kind of weird
Not knowing when your good
Even when you could write
From early childhood

Maybe it is a gift
Given to me from above
Any one can write
If they just give them selves a shove

The poetry I write
Comes from emotion and feeling
It is not something
That just falls from the ceiling

I use to write my words on paper
Now I type them with a key
It really doesn’t matter
I still write what comes to me

Writing can be fun
Very exciting too
I wrote this poem
Trying to inspire you

funny how the smallest things can inspire the biggest works... sometime inspiration can be the hardest part of writing... sometimes its the easiest... you just have to look around... and sometimes it hard to put things to words... but all of it comes from emotion somehow... strange, but true... anyways, just wishing to tell you that his poem hits the spot, i think it sums it up for everyone with the way you talk about such inpiration... good going.... hmmm i just feel like writing some more myself now....

A nice story of inspirations, writers block and a great set of instructions for the writers mature or beginner. I agree with you that writing poetry is from our emotions and experience...but books are another question...poetry comes to me with ease but I have yet to even start one page of a book that I have planning to write since..forever...oh well but hten again it could be as you said...just give my lazy tushy a shove...thanks for the directions!...
