[hometext] => I've heard so many sad stories about 9-11... I just wanted one to be happy... so this is dedicated to all of the people who got out of the towers... and the grief that passed them by...
[bodytext] => She sat and stared in disbelief
As the towers came crashing down, Crashing down on what was left, What was left of one single town. One single solitary tear Slipped, oh so slowly, down her cheek, As she accepted the fate of the one she loved, In that mess upon the street. She said a prayer for his soul, Held her phone close to her heart, Begging for one single ring, For the one she loved not to depart. She walked around like a zombie, In a zombie like stance, Her heart had stopped beating With the last step of death’s dance. She was so stricken with grief, she didn’t see him at first, And then, she refused to believe, She thought it was some cruel trick, But it was so comforting. So slowly she walked towards him, And then picked up pace, Then at a dead run she threw herself at him, Their tears mingling, on what seemed like, one face. How he got out, well they may never know, He doesn’t even remember now, All he can say is that in the smoke and the flames, “The angels carried me out.” [comments] => 2 [counter] => 196 [topic] => 8 [informant] => ginsdance [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AmericanTragedy )
