i wish i was free.
free of pain
free of anger or simply a free spirit.
free to love an be loved back,
free to be who i am with out being judged,
free to say what i want without being condemned.
free are we really free! will we ever be.
as long as we have a thought that enters our heads
we free
if only for that moment we are free.

No. We'll never be that kind of free in this life. You see, we all owe a great debt that we cannot pay. And if we, by Christ, have that debt paid; we owe thanks, devotion, and fidelity to Him. ( All our pain and troubles came because of sin against our maker )
God Bless.
Lionel

This is my favourite poem of all poems posted by you DESIRE, it express what everyone wants either in this world or in some world somewhere. We need to be free, and the freedom this poem professes is positive.. this love is the love to stay free of negativity in a world wrongness. I love this poem because I seek this freedom, but surely this freedom gears towards perfection, it is a target anyone should set to achieve and by so doing, u attain the best.

Ah Lionel my sweet friend, I just want to comment that this freedom being sook by Desire is a mere realistic wish that most of us pray for. While it isn't 100% attainable in this life... the rhetoric question 'will we ever be?' as put by Desire is highly necessary as the world falls short of 0.029% of this kind of freedom(which is sad)... I simply guess that Desire in the poem consciously or unconsciously meant to push up the ladder to at least 20%... this poem is an idealistic one... GOODNESS is the issue here personalised in whatever form - Christ, Buddha, Krishna etc... I agree with you only to an extent...

I think everyone longs to be free like that at least once in their lives. Kie
