The Bahamas,Brazil or better yet the island of Capri
I'm guessing you'll swim in those flamboyant waters
And swim amongst the starfish, vibrant corals and scarlet lobsters

Or you might stay with your friends and drink an almond margarita
In a frozen cocktail glass complete with a straw
Dance to the music under the sparkling disco ball
And giggle with your girlfriends in the bathroom stall

But I'm guessing it's with your family you'll want to be
With angelfood cake and special lemon tea
Recollecting cherished memories spent with you
And heartfelt conversations about how much they love you too

Just thought I'd send you birthday wishes
Filled with hugs and special kisses
And tell you how much you're present in my heart
At your tombstone is where I start

This is so well written you talk about everyday items and make them seem extra ordinary - that is hard to do!' one word sprung to mind whilst reading this which sums up this poem - 'delightful'

Brilliant. Again you are so creative and the imagery. And the ending caught me so of guard....I was so into reading this and it caught me....from so happy to tragic sadness.
Really, this was brilliant imho.

Hmmm...wasn't going to say this but oh what the....it is my b-day today.

You really did great with this write.
