the breeze chokes her breath
lost amid the empty forest
standing patiently for her death
the walls are closing in on her
and she fears the path is lost
after all that's buried so early
what's audacity to the cost
the sun has broken her promise
the crescent moon is here to stay
firelight within the circle
her senses fully betrayed
searching in vain for her rescuer
but none are ever close by
she's pushed them all away
and sits in her recluse and cries
destined forlorn and shaken
no pennies left to think
she's dawn upon the delta

The aching heart here fills me with a feeling of lonliness and despair. Extremely sad but beautifully written.

Hugs,
Rita
