[bodytext] => Sitting alone for weeks in grief, Till only two things could I do. I must go and take my life, Or find another you! Knowing not which way to turn, I sought out one final meal. At a dive where no one knew me, Or cared how I should feel. I took a table in a darkened corner, Where loneliness seems to thrive. I really was not hungry, And I felt so un-alive. I heard a gentle sobbing. And thought at first it must be me. But unseen in a darkened alcove, I wondered who it could be. I peeked around the corner. My gaze turned into a stare. How shocked I was to find it you, Alone and sobbing there. You rose up when you saw me, And jumped right into my arms. With a gun left on the table, Where you were about to do yourself harm. Your tears were dripping on my cheeks, As your kisses moistened my lips. I felt my arms circle round you, Where they hugged familiar hips. I lost you once then found you. I believe you’re home to stay. I’ll work now even harder, not to let you ever slip away. That was no chance encounter. Fate works in mysterious ways. It hates to see love fleeting. Preferring forever and a day! robertburns2@mac.com [comments] => 1 [counter] => 148 [topic] => 2 [informant] => robert_edgar_burns [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )
