I am flattered by your words
A woman of mystery
How that appeals to me
But oh how wrong -
I tend to stick my foot in my mouth
Trip over truth
And go tumbling down
Naive to a fault
I really thought you had a dog
Raised and lowered on a pulley
How silly of me
And we had a good laugh
You are right about me chasing dreams
And running away when the lights come on
I keep what is mine
Well guarded you see
A sliver of self
To regenerate me
Under the bridge I might be
But I find I bounce back
From all sorts of mayhem
Resilient, I guess, is how I see me
