Feathers brush the skin Ageless breath of a failing soul Scoop up the babe In arms of frozen snow The innocence escapes On a breath of wind To easily taken away From a slumbering babe. Hush the child, Steal its cries Place them in a bottle in the sky The voices of the wind, Anguish of the souls Bottled up and hidden away To return another day A final sigh The last tear Rolling down the ageless face Crying as another blade Takes another babe Children born in light Thrust into dark Demons in the night Smothering cries Taking innocence away From sleeping babes The steel of reflected light Piercing the heart Taking a breath The last. The ageless face weeps its last Turning leaves The world is dark But there is still hope Where one blade fails to fall The essence there to grow A smile that shines out bright A beacon of hope In the dark of night
