The minutes tick by at a pace unkind, Your beautiful face crosses my mind. You smile mischievously as you always do, We dance to our music as I tenderly kiss you. Our journey is short to the place where we lay, Our love fills the world 'til the dawning of day. As we drift off to sleep, you draw me near, The gentle beat of your heart is all I can hear. I bury my face in your heavenly skin, This could only be love I have fallen in. Reality strikes with the sound of a voice, I want to stay in your arms, but I don't have a choice. I search for distractions to tame the sorrow I feel, How do I let go of something so real? Time to cut my losses, go forward, move on, Memories will stay, but the fact is you're gone.
