I search for the torch,
The one that brings the hope of another chance.

Stepping out the door,
my foot cracks the floor,
Polished glass,
the ground a mirror to my soul.
I catch my breath,
Can't let on,
lest the wind can take my thoughts,
Carried on the sigh I let escape.

The snowdrops nod,
They know this world too well.
They wait to bring the news
They try to stop the hurt.
Signalling a warmer time ahead.

No more secrets,
Freezing hearts, melting beams.
The sun should once again be seen.
Open my eyes,
Too much light to see.
The dark escapes unseen.
I am new to this world.
I have never known the joy.

Snowdrops nodding.
