If you could only see
I’ve made him cry
When he’s inspired me

He’s given so much
And I’ve let him down
I’ve done such
To make him frown

My poems display
Only a part of me
There’s much to say
Of what you don’t see

It was by his suggestion
That I began to write
It was by this action
I found the will to fight

I hold him in high regard
Because he deserves it so
Although he’s finding it hard
To let some things go

His standards are high
And he holds himself to them
He’s special in my eyes
From them my love stems

Of the two of us
I believe you’d choose
Me to be callous
And him the abused
