BUT I CANNOT SEE YOU.
SOMETHING IS HAPPENING,
I CANT GET THERE IN TIME.
I FEEL IT IN MY STOMACH,
THIS IS NOT GOOD.
WHERE IS ALL THIS RED COMING FROM?
IM STEPPING IN THE POOLS.
IM GETTING CLOSER.
I CAN HEAR YOU BREATHING.
IM SCREAMING FOR YOUR SAFTEY.
PLEASE GOD I PRAY!
“SAVE HIM FROM THE PAIN!”
IM ROUNDING THE CORNER,
“CAN YOU HEAR ME?” I YELL.
“WHERE ARE YOU?” I KNOW YOU’RE HERE,
AM I TOO LATE?
I SEE YOU LYING THERE.
IM RUNNING TO YOUR SIDE.
BUT I CANNOT REACH YOU.
MY MIND IS GOING INSANE.
DID THE FLOOR JUST SPLIT?
HELP! HELP! HELP!
WHY CANT I SAVE YOU?
YOU CANT BE SAVED.
THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO.
BUT WATCH YOU BLEED.
THE DARK RED STAINS THE FLOOR.
HOW WILL I EVER GET THROUGH THIS?
HOW WILL YOU EVER SURVIVE THE PAIN?
I COULD HAVE STOPPED IT.
WAS THERE SOMETHING I COULD HAVE DONE?
I KNEW IT WAS COMING.
IT WAS JUST A MATTER OF TIME.
NOW ITS HERE AND I WANT IT GONE.
“DON’T LEAVE YET!” I SAY.
IM NOT READY!
PLEASE LET HIM STAY!
IM SORRY!
IM SORRY!
IM SORRY!
I LOVE YOU SO DEAR,
AND I COULDNT HELP YOU.
NOW ALL I CAN DO IS STAND HERE AND THINK BACK,
ON WHAT I DID TO GET YOU HERE.
AND WHY I COULD NOT SAVE YOU,
FROM THE RED THAT STREAMED DOWN UPON YOU.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
