Perhaps love is a destroyer
Seeking its revenge
On vulnerable hearts it strives
Piercing deeply its been known to binge
Perhaps love is a fool
A liar through cracked teeth
Pouring promises and vows
A black dove with no peace
Perhaps love is a failure
A negative impact on the heart
A blockage sent to stop pumping
To leave a soul unable to bleed and restart.
Perhaps love is a rival
An enemy not long laid to rest
Someone's memory of a tear deeply stained
And a burden forever buried in their chest.
Perhaps love is a carrier
A brewery for heartaches disease
Causing one to drip with woe
And cry to God with greedy pleas
Perhaps love is a satanistic ritual
To streak one with numbing pain
A charred fire with no light
Leaving hearts to rekindle in vain.

Love is all that, but it is also hope, life, rebirth, the light itself. What is it that we learn in school? For every reaction there is an equal an opposite reaction... ? All of the pain in the world will balance itself out with all of the happiness that love can bring. Great write!
