An oasis of desolate minds.
In time this world will lay in restless ruin,
Like hearts beguiled by lust,
It's temporary love
Lends no satisfaction
Like rain atop the ocean,
It just swells the tide.....

I have forgotten the sweetness of my youth
Lost somewhere in my old bedroom.
I remember the gold shag carpet,
Mint green walls
Someplace I call home,
Lost somewhere in 88'
The summer of my youth.
A world that seemed so big,
Is only bigger now
I can't help but see
That justice is cloaked in green,
And so many hands are covered in blood.....

Someone once told me;
' Prostitution is the oldest proffession' ,
So I said ' What about war ' ?
And it makes me wonder,
If a soldier is a whore,
Or if a whore is a soldier?

Corruption is blind
And deadly like disease,
I can't even trust my own hands,
They're bound to be a little shaky,
But then again, so is life..

I once dreamt of Hell,
They said to me,
' Come on down the weather is nice and the wine is fine',
So I drank with the devil and told him my sorrows,
But he did'nt seem to care.

I awoke to realize that reality really is'nt real,
And I cry for another sunrise,
Just one more day to make it right.
If only the truth did'nt hurt,
My wounds would run less deep....

And I ramble on like a joke in laughter
And I ramble on like chatter in the covers
And I ramble on
Because there is no end to the madness.... [comments] => 3 [counter] => 174 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Mouth [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

I'm speechless! This is by far the best I've read here. Or perhaps it's just the most to my liking. I feel that I too "ramble on" these days. So much to "ramble" about I suppose. I can't even tell of my favorite stanza or line here, I love them all. I don't know who you are, and there is nothing in your profile (a shame), but please keep posting. Your work makes my day!
Thanks.
Judy

Wow! Another "magnificent" poem! How do you come up with these things to describe like for example love in your "fools' paradise" poem and in this poem you describe the world as "a playground of lost fortune" you have such a wonderful way of putting things. I wish you'd tell me your secret! Wow! Thats all I can say (okay maybe not) I LOVE YOUR POETRY!
