But for what
For the poem that I wrote
For my opinion that I expressed
Or the anger that I felt
I regret you weren’t the first to know
I regret I wrote it behind your back
But I couldn’t come to you with this.
I explained why in my poem
I told it how I see it.
If I were to speak with you
You would play the role of the victim
You always do
I would be left feeling guilty.
But I am guilty of naught
You would play-down my problem
So it would never ‘compete/compare’ with yours
You always say to me
“At least I have you”
and you know what?
You do, I will always be here
You always say I am your only true friend
And I will try to be always true
But you have never once said
that you will be here for me
you never ask me am I okay
you never want to hear if I’m hurting
would it be asking too much
to know that you care.
Would it.

I liked this. Very good write. Yeah, there are lots of people like that who will play down your problem to make their seem more important. Darn psychic vampires... Lol.
