Array ( [sid] => 30215 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => god [time] => 2003-12-27 02:38:42 [hometext] => i was gonna title it 'guess who' but i didn't figure anyone would figure it out. so the title says it all. this is about 'their' god. [bodytext] => he doesn't feel anymore
just watches everything go by
he tries to remember
but forgets why he's trying

so many people come and go
they mean so little
just props to chase off
the ever-looming phantom of isolation

for him it is just day-to-day
no painful memories to get in the way
just the neutral numb that is his heart
the numb that he has known for so long

city to city, town to town
it's always the same
the same people with different faces
the suffering he sees is always the same
the suffering he feels is non-existent

tender flesh and hungry eyes
mean nothing to him
he ***** you for fun, for his amusement
but it's not as fun as it used to be
now he feels nothing as he ***** you
he might as well be sleeping
he might as well be dying

he doesn't know how old he is
he doesn't have a name
sometimes he smiles and says "i understand"
but he doesn't, he can't, that's not the way he's built

and when he crawls home everynight
he returns with no new insight
for all he is, for all he matters
he is the nothing within us all

and for all his lack of pain
for his immunity to agony
no one will ever get to rejoice in his fall
because in a world that he can't understand
he never had any power at all [comments] => 9 [counter] => 498 [topic] => 21 [informant] => Cancer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

The people see the devas' wonders,
And then pen down their prayers,
But all is to no avail, and they curse "damn you!"
but what could mere outsiders do?

Don't know if you truly feel this way or not... just something to think about ....... If you do believe its true why didn't you think we would know who you were talkin about? If it were true wouldn't more than one person realize it? Not judging.... Just trying to give you some sort of encouragement if you really feel this way. Sometimes other people see things we can't, so just incase you can't see it right now god does care about you, about all of us. So never give up hope. Although I don't agree with the actual subject the feeling was very well expressed. I got that your trying to express you feel alone. Read footprints in the sand. It might make you feel better I hope it does.

Always hope and believe in your dreams,
It helps us to cope with the trivial things.

look up dumfries.
Then along with Footprints In The Sand.

I'd recommend BLOOD ON THE TARTAN

Something really got to you. That is apparent.
Many I have loved have died. One mutilated, another lived after a jump from a window, fracturing her spine, my son fractured his skull twice. Even now I thank the powerful JAH and his Son for what they will do when their kingdom ends mans rule. "Let your kingdom come, your will be done, ON EARTH as it IS IN HEAVEN.

He had a perfect person
and then a mate for him
was so proud of them
he said everything was good.
He placed them in the garden
talked and walked with them each day
and then told them
one thing never ever do one day
he told them not to touch the fruit
from a tree
but the devil came and tempted eve.
by doing this her eyes were open
her soul had died
she no longer was perfect
in gods eye.
she made the man eat and he did
and when they heard GOD'S voice
they hid.
they new from right and wrong now
they new they had sinned
and GOD had to make another plan.
the world wasnt perfect anymore
disasters everywhere
sin after sin entered in
and nobody ever again wanted to live there...
THEY BLAMED THE GOD THAT MADE THE WORLD
BUT THEY DID NOT SEE
THAT THEY SHOULD HAD MINDED THEIR GOD AND NOT EAT FROM THAT TREE....
but GOD SO LOVED THEM
HE COULD HAD DESTROYED THEM ALL
BUT HE BROUGHT HIS SON TO EARTH
AND HE died for them all....
now a new world they can enter
now a new world of their own
a place where they can have fellowship
with their GOD again
and when they die they will be with him
for eternity..
DID GOD promise them a rose garden
after the sin of man....no
I also seen jesus suffer their up on the cross
and when he walked around doing good
did you know men and women wanted to kill him as well...push him off the cliff i had read in the book..
GOD DOES want to talk to you
GOD DOES want to care
but one dont reach out to him
how can he be there....
ONE dont believe in him
one cant see
that GOD is in the world
wanting to love and to help
but is to blind to see...
they dont care to listen
they dont care to hear
that GOD ALMIGHTY IS TRUE TO HIS WORD
AND IS REALLY TRULY THERE....

HE MADE ALL for a purpose
he had many to share the world with
but he made you and me so special
he wanted us to share it with....

WE WALK AWAY SOMETIMES
we have other things on our mind
we hate sometimes
and blame onto him.
He can fix anything
he can do anything
but do we ask....................

MY GOD ,YOUR GOD, ALL GOD ......SANDY

poetrygodslove, let me ask you this? if you had a young child, full of curiosity as they all are, and you swore that you loved this child with all your heart, would you leave a loaded gun in his/her toy box, telling him/her never NEVER to play with it? of course not, it would be nothing short of absolute mindlessness. what kind of thoughtless simp would do such a thing? god, that's who. if adam and eve weren't supposed to touch the tree in the first place, why the hell was it even there? yeah, yeah, i know. god wanted us to have the power of choice. that's terrific. there are a million other choices he could have given them, choices that wouldn't have, from the christian perspective, damned the rest of mankind. but no, god was bored so he figured, "hey, i think a little suffering is in order" so he placed the tree there, knowing full well (since he knows everything) what was going to happen.
not THAT, my friends, is love.

Nice one, Cancer. Don't know if I agree with some of it, but hey, at least it made me think a little. Hopefully I'm not the only one.

Now, not to wade into this mini-religious debate, but might I add something? Not judging, condemning, or arguing, I'd just like to tell a short story.

See, I absolutely love mythology of all kinds, especially Greek. One story that comes to mind is the story of Pandora. Allow me to paraphrase: Once upon a time, the world was good. Zeus, king of the gods, looked down from Mt. Olympus on all the mortals one day. Prometheus, one of the Titans (technically Zeus' brother, but we won't go into that) suggested that they give Man fire. To make that part of the story, which is really just the background, short, Zeus said no and Prometheus said yes. He stole fire from the gods, gave it to the people, and got caught. Punished, too, but Zeus also wanted to punish mankind for accepting the gift of fire. So this is what he did: (note: start paying attention now)

Zeus got all the gods together to make a person, the first ever woman, named Pandora. All the gods gave her various gifts: beauty, grace, modesty, kindness, etc. The last gift she recieved? Curiosity. So then they went to Prometheus' brother and said, "listen, sorry about that whole punishment thing of your brother. We're sorry, and here's a wife for you as a token of apology." The next day, Hermes (messenger god) gave Pandora this gorgeous box. Studded with precious jewels and everything, as "a present". Hermes said, "don't open this. Ever." Making another long story short, Pandora finally succumbed to her curiosity and opened the box, as Zeus had known she would. Out of the box flew all the awful things that plague the world: disease, sorrow, war, death, etc.

I'm done. Are we seeing any parallels?

forgive me how i answer you.....

WE place our children into our home....we love them we created them and we want to protect them..inside your bedroom is a gun,you tell the children not to touch the gun or will hurt them...you made the law.and hope they will obey you...well a friend comes by and they talk about guns and your kids say we have one but cant touch.but the friend talks them into getting your gun...they pick it up and it goes off..the gun dont kill the body but in your mind it killed the trust.the trust that was there and it wont be back.until one day you thought since i love my kids i need to trust them again i need to fix the problem somehow and so like GOD he sends hisself down on earth goes through we all do to test the water so to speak why we do this and that and dies on the cross to forgives us.he is punished instead of us.cause he loves us.your kids you forgive them no matter what they do...GOD LOVES US AND FORGIVES US....DO WE STILL DO WRONG SOMETIMES YES....god placed the tree .yes we were tempted and we ate there of...your kids was tempted ...would you want to make your kids love you...or would you want them to come on their own free will love you ? when your kids get older and you and wife want to go out you leave the kids at home for the first time you tell them not to open the door for anyone...would you not go back and knock on the door to see if they will open it up ? things are placed there to learn to obey or would you obey ...WE ARE SO LUCKY that god loved us so much that when we did mess up he made a way for us to come back to him...WHAT IF HE DIDNT? what if you child messes up and you tell them that you will stop loving them.? could you ...no...GOD LOVES US MORE THEN THAT.....no matter what we do done or will do....im forgiven...your forgiven..the world was perfect before sin entered in....we had the choice .....we made the choice we sinned..and we pay the coincidences now...but god made a way that i rather have jesus in my boat when there is troubled water then not...take care...happy holidays...sandy

ahh Cancer you've written another thing that set off a bomb here. Well... you know I don't agree with this although at times I have believed God has turned his back on me and forgotten about me, but now I can see it was me who turned his back on him and he blessed me with an awesome job and then blessed me with an even better job, but ne way u know how i feel so I'm not gonna ***** at you buddy. I hope you find what your looking for because according to me you wouldn't have written this if your not searching for answers.

Peace,
Your friend,
Joel
