Who led her to believe nothing was wrong
But that's not the case as you can tell
Here's the story of a family hell:

Look on her back and you'll see the scars
Of all the times her daddy took it too far
And look in her mom's eyes and see the pain
Look at her clothes soaked in blood stains
Look in the eyes of these two innocent souls
And see how violence has taken it's toll
And ask the son what his daddy did
And when he saw his dad why he ran and hid
Look at the bruises left on his neck
Ask his mom about the late night wreck
Look at Ashley's arms and see all the welts
That were left when she was hit with his belt
And feel the burns left on the mother's face
From all the night's he said she's a disgrace
And ask the mom about all the fights
When he came home drunk late in the nights

5 years later....

Ask Ashley why her mom took her life
And the reasons why she now holds this knife
She firmly runs it across her wrists
Tightly closing her tiny fists
One cut, two cuts, ten times more
Blood starts to fill in the empty goreds
Death slowly starts to take it's form
With wishes and thoughts of never being born
Sliced veins and bleeding wrists
Death is coming, this is it
Close your eyes, form your thoughts
Think of all you have fought
Think of the horror, the scars, the abuse
And that living in this world serves no use
Put these pictures in your mind
What hidden secrets do you find
Violence again has taken it's toll
Taken from this world another lost soul. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 332 [topic] => 13 [informant] => CuttersAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Just found this, and I have to say, so very sad yet so beautifully written. This poem touched me deeply and brought tears to my eyes.
