There's a feeling deep inside
hiding inside our hearts,
it's like a winter storm
tearing my life apart.

It's been there a long time
since I was just a gal,
whenever I hear the music chime
I think of my best pal.

Imagine a winter storm
feel the cold, bitter wind,
hard, driving ice and snow,
cutting into you like a knife in cream.
It scares me so badly
I'm to afraid to scream,
I've tried my best to run
but I can't get away,
this feeling's no fun
but it won't go away.

The wind , the rain,
the snow, the cold, the ice
it's so cold it burns my heart.
A fire called true love
even my love can't destroy,
this feeling I've tried to run from.
The fire in my heart
cannot warm my soul,
fright and fligth don't mix - it's true.
You cannot run from what's inside
it will only follow you.

I enjoyed your poem. Sometimes when we are placed in life threatening situations or deep fear we experience a combination of fight, flight or freeze responses. Mainly bec we are so scared. You are right about not being able to run from whats inside of us, it does follow us. I think you did an absolutely fantastic job portaying how you feel in your poem.

Keep facing it. Don't run. Think it through. Get to know it well. It takes a long time to face a fear and win but it can be done.

Once you develope the mental discipline to order your thoughts you lose all fear of them.
