I never thought it could happen but my son started taking drugs.
I never saw it coming. I could never feel his pain.
There were tears in his eyes as he tried to explain.

Please trust me Daddy, I won't do drugs again.
I'm fighting this addiction and I'm going to win.
Drugs never made me a part of the crowd.
I'm putting that poison behind me and you'll be proud.

Eventually our love turned to anger.
Drugs had tore us apart. We were like strangers.
We could never get along and I couldn't understand why.
I found needle marks on his arms. His promises had turned to lies.

Rehabilitation did my son no good.
He wanted to overcome drugs but he never could.
Our kids are being poisoned by drugs from coast to coast.
My son lost his battle when I found him dead from an overdose.

Enjoyed this.So may times this is how it plays out.We as parents can do all for them when they are little, keep them from lifes kicks. But as they grow,we have to just sit back and be there for the falls.Drugs are such a hard thing to keep from them.
Great lyrics.
Sharon

This is sad and a little disturbing. So what happened to him?

So sad but this really hits you hard! One day I'll have to worry about this with mine! Christina
