[title] => A HARVEST OF FRIENDS

[bodytext] => When darkness overwhelmed me,
And there was no light to be found, I almost stumbled over, Some object on the ground. When daylight came I did return, To find what had been there. I really had to rub my eyes, From my bewildered stare. There was growing straight and tall A harvest of my friends. The sowing had then just begun, There’d be harvesting again. Through thick and thin wherever I’ve been, They’ve always been by my side. I may have been able to see them, Had I only opened my eyes. A friend listens quickly, But is so slow to speak. Is closer than a brother, Giving strength when we are weak. A friend or a brother? Let me hear it form your voice. A brother has to be there. But your friends’ there as his choice! rob.burns2@verizon.net homepage.mac.com/robertburns2/… Friendship Poetry [comments] => 2 [counter] => 501 [topic] => 16 [informant] => Robert_Edgar_Burns [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )
