Array ( [sid] => 28324 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => December's Tears [time] => 2003-11-30 22:02:11 [hometext] => This is poem is dedicated to my friend Nancy, who died 3 years ago beside me in a car accident.Although this poem is pretty dark, the pain and details expressed don't represent even half the pain.We love you sweetie, you are always remembered. [bodytext] => December's tears are trapped in my soul to this day
The third day,the Lord decided to take you away
The warmth of your body suffered, the look in your eyes shattered
To ease the pain, your existence decided to give up the fight
As the the sunrise,it refused to shed it's comforting light

The shattered glass around me twinkled like a star
While the icy water slowly rose upon the bloody red car
I searched for you like a hunter in need of a deer
I screamed for you, looked at my left, and for the first time I now knew fear

Your body so pure and heart loved by so many in all it's heat
Was now lying in the lake 2 inches from my feet
I undid my seatbelt and turned around in the icy lake
I tried to shake you,to wake you,for all of our sake

My God!My God help!Somebody please!
Before this little body that I shared the night with begins to freeze
I failed to pull this little one out with me
I climbed out of the car, completely frozen,in such pain some call it misery

A hill I know have to climb to be seen
The snowy starry black sky made it look like a bad dream
Hands and knees were now my only refugee
Can't see,can't concentrate,frozen,shocked,wake up Nancy!

I accomplish my task and throw myself out on the highway
Scream to anyone who manages to care and tell me it's all okay
A car suddenly stops,I run to it,run faster than ever before
Like an apple,my heart remains eaten to the core

Hospital time:Is Nancy alive?Did she wake up doctor? Is she still sleeping?
Even though she is in the observation rrom beside me,I can complete his answer for sure
"It's complicated...um...uh...."
Suddenly I am alone in my dimension, all black, with only my heartbeat, all is gone
I only see tears, tears that belong to us,that announce the ending of a life.

I miss you Nancy,we'll meet again someday. [comments] => 11 [counter] => 531 [topic] => 39 [informant] => PumpkinPie [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 50 [ratings] => 10 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Grief )

I can feel your pain, they say time will heal the wounds but sometimes it only gets deeper, remember the times shared, and the gifts she left for you, she's now heaven's angel watching you and I'm sure she'll be there when you arrive one day, bless you bunches, always Val

powerful, emotional, and well written poem. it felt like i was the one in the story and not yourself it was written so well. a lovely dedication, and maybe someday the pain might be dulled.
