he was looking down on me
with his piercing eyes so black
he watched me where i sat
the sun upon my golden head
he asked me for a single thread
that he might weave into his nest
where he lay down his head to rest
i gave him three strands of gold
and watched him come down so bold
with his piercing eyes so black
he flew away to not come back
i walked into the forest glen
a lone gray wolf stood by his den
he watched me with is hungry eyes
his teeth he bared in friendly smiles
he asked me for a sweet to eat
but i had nothing for a treat
he growled and said he ate fair maids
who wandered by with golden braids
i thought my life about to end
but a hunter came into the glen
his arrow straight and true
from the wolf the blood it drew
a hunter all dressed in finery
his eyes like jet passed over me
and something familiar i did feel
as if my heart he meant to steal
and as i bowed to his brave deed
he climbed upon a handsome steed
he lifted me upon his lap
and on his shoulder i did tap
what is your name sir, if you please
i am the raven he replied with ease

This is the best today..tomorrow..?
----------------------------------------------
A fairy tale for all to read,
with a handsome man upon a steed,
The wolf he slew,
that's something new,
The babe is his.. if he only knew...

" I am the Raven he replied with ease"
As if to tease
Or aim to please
A golden-red sunset I did see
As he rode off on his steed with me......I loved your poem hon!! VERY nice
