Silence is almost forlorn.
A constant ticking of the clock.
A lone ship anchored at the dock.

Worries, strife, and sleepless night,
With hardships forgotten,
and all is at last right!
If only I'd had a "Time Machine,"
that could have flown me
now, to this very scene.

A lifetime of precious seconds,
minutes, hours, and years!
If only I'd have know then,
I'd have been void of all fears!
'Tis so true, what we worry through
usually never comes into our view!

The luxury of going back and reliving,
and redoing, is not granted to me or you!
What would we change, or undo?
I'd have to get permission
from more than a limited few.
For what was my curse, to them,
may be just the reverse!

Would we call them back to suffer even more?
Put our hearts back together,
as our spirits soar?
Are we so selfish, we would awaken
them, for our sake,
Even if for them, it meant a life
of sickness and give and take?

And what event would you like to change?
Perhaps different parents,
maybe a complete exchange?
And if you could, you might, like me,
have to accept ones even more strange!
My many surgeries, so painful, and remote.
If I could only change those......
*footnote*
I'd be dead!

A job you sacrificed, maybe you were fired?
Would you want it back, even
though you were more inspired?
Divorce or separation,
Want that changed, even though
another was chosen and won!

Money, now that's a grand thought!
Do you wish you had saved more?
Investments, stocks, property bought?
If that you could change,
would more happiness be caught?

Our lives could never be changed
Even if granted the power to do so,
how would you rearrange?
Who would you forget, or leave out?
Hurt, or strike-out, or take out,
or even wipe out?

In the wee hours of my morn.
There's stillness, but I'm not forlorn.
I changed what I could, when I could!.
I had to learn to accept those
that weren't good!
My decisions will have to stand.
None of them were preplanned.
All were taken, out of my hand!

As I look back on my life,
I might have thought that I was in control,
but we are all just carried along
by time and unforeseen occurrences,
and must adjust our lives to it's flow!
We all do the best we can with
what we know!

What a grand poem this is..Kudos
------------------------------------------------
Only a person who's lived quite long
Can write this poem that's like a song
Can call upon the people gone
To change a life that woe begone.

Madam or sir, what e'er you be,
The hell with them, it's you and me
The life we live from day to day
That's all we get, that's all I say...

The older I get ther more I look back
at the times I left the beaten track
but I''ve learned to stop myself at last
I exist now! the past is past.

Memory evolved......... in pain
to not make that mistake again
Time is kind it sets you free
from yesterdays sad memory

If you can't dump the heavy pack
of troubles piled upon your back
call Time Out! Reverse the play
you''ve got to try another way
