Fooling myself to think of making dream, a reality.
Not simply accepting the life that was mine,
Was living in the world of a blurry time.

Thoughtlessly thinking, why not act on heart’s whim?
But found my mind chaotically entangled in the webs of fears.
Peeking, a little blithe girl, from subconscious’s rim,
But cautious conscious pushed her back, like I did with my tears.

Showing, the Fate, funny sides of its mercurial moods,
Left me blindfolded to perceive my life vividly.
Groping for the right way out of life’s cryptic routes,
But fell down in despair and got my soul bled profusely.

Now standing again in the blackness, but know what I must do,
Have chosen a blank road, O God! Please help me go through…
Serenely and happily as these feelings are still strangers to me,
I am hoping, at the end of the tunnel, a blissful light to see.

I truly love the line "But cautious conscious pushed her back, like I did with my tears." we do get torn apart b/w our two selves, one which wouldn't stop dreaming, nor willingly part away with them, & the other side that would never let us turn a blind eye to the life's reality, for long. My kinda poem. Kudos Saira, more so as it ends on a optimistic note, some day the twine may meet. ( i am again daring to hope & this time my brain is willing to go along ;) ---- kj,(another Crab).

great write..last stanza makes it a great poem..you may not be conscious of it's importance..great sages who meditate on God pass through such tunnel through their hearts to find the blissful light and to merge
into that universal divine self. venkat

Dear Saira,
What a thought-provoking poem I've read it three times now and will read it again before I leave your site.
All spiritual minded people go from one level, to another. In my 40 years, I think I've run out of places to roam...not so...every single day is a new one for me. Enlightenment, and glee!
What a Marvelous Poem Saira....and it's comforting for me to know that I have company on my journey too!
And so upbuilding, leaves your readers with a good feeling!
