Array ( [sid] => 24376 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => HOPE [time] => 2003-10-04 13:35:00 [hometext] => Picking up my mail. Beautiful friends sent me a CD. I played it and look what came out! [bodytext] => A CD was found in my box of mail
The first song played,
took me down my 'Life's Lived Trail.'

"Twas 10 years old, in my white gown, a solo
I stood to sing, "Whispering Hope."
As the bells of my life,
began to ring!

Just two hours before,
from a fast moving car.....
I had fallen through the open door.
Gravel and sand removed the skin from my hip!

"Please help me to rise from my knees.
I simply cannot give up this ship!
For the very first time,
my parents will be present.
I must sing like a Nightengale.
Today may be the day they relent!"

I wanted so, to make them smile,
as I sang for only a very short while
And as I related the hope, I felt the pain.
A lesson learned, the memory remained.

How many times since,
I've been down on my knees
Skinned, and scrapped,
Paralyzed with hurt, devastated
like an empty deep freeze!

In my ear "Hope" was whispered....
Rise, bare the pain,
stand on your feet!
Life is hard, and hands...
many a devastating repeat!

Hope against Hope eternally,
Lifting, upbuilding, never lose the desire.
Your loved ones are watching,
Sing "Hope" you will be their Identifier!

No greater gift could you pass as a legacy!
For "Hope" is learned for all that see...
When you rise from your knees....
You're teaching them a lesson,
of learned behavior with ease!

Although this poem is a tale of hope...I cannot help but shed a tear for the wee girl inside of you who remembers that day..wanting only to please..breaks my heart...
Much love to you my dear friend

To make a child present thru pain
Is purely for the parent's gain
I hope we're not being too obtuse,
It's sure a form of kid abuse.

You should say, do your best,
If you don't win, that's not the test,
If you can lose, but hold head high
That's life's test, see!, by and by...
