You let him in, gave him a kiss unaware of what was about to begain,
He pulled you close, then grabbed your troat,
Slammed you on the chouch, told you to shut your mouth,

You tried to resist, but he drew back his fist,
He invaded your body, all you could think of was I thought he loved me,
With tears in your eyes, he came inside,
He looked at your bloody face and said, now that wasn't that bad, don't look so sad,

You swallowed your pride and asked him if he wanted a drink, he said fine,
You had a plan, you were going to get even with this man,
In the kichten you went, as he sat in the den, you made him his drink orange juice and Gin,
You picked up the knife, put it in your sleeve, for this he will bleed,

You curled up real close, placing your arm nearest his troat,
With the slide of your hand, his evil ways came to an end,
When the police got there you told them it was self defence,
You had the marks and semen mixed blood to help your defence,

The case was thrown out, but the nightmares remain without a doubt,
Could you ever trust again, I guess only God knows when,
Well you go to hell for killing a man, or will God understand,
One thing is for sure, you'll never be the same having to live with the pain.

Forever Faithful

Have you been in my diary??? lol
I was this girl..somewhat to a certain extent.I say the best self defence is strength..strength to stand up after the pain and violation. To deal and then go forward, not lose yourself in revenge or the consequences of pay backs.(just my opionion)You have touched on a very important issue though..and you have spoken of it well :)

Other poets have commented
On the question, as you commanded
Was it self defence, there is no doubt
Everyone agrees, no need to shout.

But will God understand or send to hell
A woman who had always been so well
All I can say, it's his own mistake
To keep us questioning,
When our lives at stake.
