Watch as it froths
The pain starts to take hold
And it brings no respite
The emotional and physical pain
They cancel each other out
And I'm left feeling nothing, feeling numb

I turn out the light take my lighter
Watch the flame head burn bright
I need to feel something
And this, this is the 'perfect' solution
Hold the flame to my skin
Hold back the screams, hold back the tears
Pass out because of the pain's intensity

Wake up, peel myself off of,
The bloodied, cold sheets
Take a shower watch the blood
Flow down the drain
Caress my burns, gingerly
And then repeat the process
Over and over and over again
Until I am unable to lift my head
From the battered confines of my body [comments] => 4 [counter] => 165 [topic] => 36 [informant] => bobotheclown [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )

Scary and deep. I can almost feel your pain. Good poem. I do hope you don't always feel this way. Kimmie_mac

Why hurt yourself when there are others who are dying? Is dying without not helping others a waste of life?

This struck deep down inside me. Your pain and agony is so clearly shown here. In a way I can relate to this poem, even though I have not done those things to myself, I still feel your pain.
