stabbing myself

needles digging into my skin the knife tearing through my back still drowning in the dead pools of your eyes
you were my mercy, my forgiveness my hope now my penance, my punishment
i hate myself for loving you
in the arms of others you writhed, entwined arcing your back, as you spent your lust
automaton ***** him, kill me it became so clear
i cried with you, when you begged for your life i might as well have been stabbing myself even after i washed off the blood i could still feel it burning into me
lovingly, i laid you in your shallow grave pulling as much dirt on top of us as possible
lying beside you, 'neath a blanket of soil holding you tight, so i won't lose you again my head on your shoulder, crying softly
and when the rain began to fall and the soil washed from my face i turned to the sky and opened my mouth waiting, hoping to drown

| "A true artist never lets his eyes become as shattered as his heart, he will find beauty in the most darkest of situations." <<< I think that when I wrote that, I wrote it for you. You, my friend, are a true artist. You aren't afraid to let go. |

| the above quote fits you perfectly. your poetry has a dark, almost twisted, beauty that draws me to it - like looking at a road accident. this is a unique and well expressed portrayal of betrayal and the idea of forgiveness only in death. excellent. Kate x |
