Array ( [sid] => 20503 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => WHAT DO I SEE? [time] => 2003-07-16 04:35:00 [hometext] => I have written this poem for my son's 23rd birthday. I had Montie when I was 43 and we both nearly died. He has always been so loving and kind to me, and I always get a warm feeling around my heart whenever I write poetry about him. He is all the [bodytext] => What do I see, when I look at a tree?
A huge Mountain Pine,
or, the tall triangular Spruce?
Arms welcoming, protective covering, and grace.
Snow storms, winds, plenty of space.

What do I see...
From the assembly of Aspen?
All their eyes are watching,
with tiny yellow leaves,
like violins, and bangos,
swaying in the mountain breeze.
I can hear the music of the forest,
accompanied by a stream's symphony....
This is what I see as I gaze upon a tree.

What do I see when I gaze upon
the sturdy strong Oak?
Rooted deep within the soil?
Always bending, but never giving way...
like solid steel, stands straight each day!

What do I see, as I watch,
a frolicking kitten at play?
Wrestling, rolling, and mastering,
a large ball of twine.
A fun creation just for us,
with our pleasure in mind!

What can you see in little puppies
romping upon their Mother's back?
Teetering, falling, fun games, they never lack.
"Pounching Practice," energy....
uninhibated, close combat.
"Wonders of nature" set free!

What do you see?
In the hushed morn as the sun
paints her many colors across the sky?
Peaceful solitude, exquisite delight!
Worries and troubles are all set aright.

What do we see?
as we look at a magnificent rainbow
after the cleansing of our earth?
Do you see the promises of life,
Just waiting to take birth?

Have you ever seen
A brand new baby gasp for it's first beathe?
Another miracle given us.
A precious life, a vibrant soul.
All prepared before hand, for life's toll!

These are my thoughts,
as I think of my young son....
Far more than a tree has meaning for me.
He's also a 'warm feeling ' round my heart.
He has so many fine qualities, where do I start?
I see loving kindness, and goodness, and much worth.
With his love, and integrity entwined,
for God's heart to take birth.
And like the mighty Oak, he has endurance, perseverance, and stability!

This is his day, the 30th, It's what he chose,
He was born very early, and sooner I'll say...
T'was not January planned, T'was March plus a day.
He has a mind of his own, and also, his own way....
I'm so glad he was loaned to me,
and decided to stay!

Created especially for my son,
With love and admiration,
Mom

Thank you Shari for your nice comments. Montie and I have really been put through alot. His Father tried to kill us, and then we found out he had sexually molested Montie. 1993. We had to run from him, the law wouldn't help us, and we were homeless just trying to stay away from him.
Montie had not showed any emotion since 1993, and when he read my poem, I knew he was going to be all right! He cried!
