I lay here holding memories of a love nowhere in sight
I battle against the forces that keep my smile at bay
In hope my heart does not turn cold and turn new love away
Although not in my future plans I one day would like to feel
Something warm and honest...a love that plays for real
Someone who would hold me throughout each and every storm
Arms wrapped tight around me to keep me safe and warm
Driven by the harshness of the wind outside tonight
The rain comes down in torrents...lightening flashes bright
It's within this storms awakening that I am sadly able to see
That by the time Im over you there'll be nothing left of me
For you have taken what little I had...so little I had to give

Lightening shreds the silence and through the darkened night
I lay here holding memories of a love nowhere in sight
