Array ( [sid] => 20397 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => The tears of a child [time] => 2003-07-14 09:05:00 [hometext] => I was reading the book, "A child called It". And it just got me thinking and this is when I got the idea to write a poem... about the anger in the house, through a child. It's different... and well... enjoy.

-Amy [bodytext] => "Daddy please stop yelling...
the angers hurts my ears.
My Mommy she loves you,
why can't you just stop this pain?"
I fight this war that I call home
and every night I sit up in my room and cry myself to sleep
hoping that when I wake up...
it will all have been just a dream.
Her entire life had been sheltered by the walls of her house.
On the outside they were your perfect picture family,
but once inside...
it all came crashing down, upon this little girl.
She was out numbered in this world...
what kind of example were her parents setting?
The picture perfect family only lasted so long.
Mommy and Daddy, spread their ways.
The little girl lived with her Mom,
in a place, where she finally felt safe.
She however, still remained out numbered in this world...
with all the peer pressure, and scars of her Father...
she just couldn't let go.
The brusises had all begun to fade into the dark
but the scars, they were bigger than ever before.
And every night she would cry herself to sleep,
praying to God for some sort of help and comfort.
But the answers never came
and again and again, she would cry,
until she finally fell asleep.
And was able to leave the world,
she was forced to call her home. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 172 [topic] => 21 [informant] => stargazer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Parents sometimes don't realize what they do affect children. I lived this kind of childhood.

You are right, it is different, but difference is one of the best ingredients for an excellent poem, I believe you are a great cook and have an amazing poem here.

Great write, and, from what I've gathered over the years, it seems to be on something that happens to a lot of families in everyday life. *sighs* Nice job portraying that scenario.

I don't know if this is true but it says real. I hate when kids have to go though that. Parents yell at each other but they let it go but that's what I seen but my other friends parents wont like that. My friend unknown she said me crying she was afraid her dad was going to hit her mom. I didn't know what to do I didn't want to be a bad friend and not say the right thing. I talked to her to make sure that he didn't hit her or the friend but they moved out and she's in a better place with her mom

You are not alone. I had a friend who feared her father and I did not, not want to say anything in case something happened but was it worth risking our friendship? Luckily in the end it all worked out. She was truely be my inspiration behind my words.
