I rip through the barrier
That I've set in my mind
To send my latest news
To find that you're not there
The pain hits me again
I remember what happened
I relive your death
The pain rips my soul away
There will never be any more
Of our late night talks
There won't be sharing of news
You won't look over my shoulder
I put the barrier back up
So I can't feel your missing
I lie to myself some more
And pretend you're not gone
I can't lie at night
When I go to talk to you
My life's now so empty
So I cry myself to sleep
You were my best friend
Treated me like a sister
You knew all my hopes and fears
You cared when they all gave up
Now you're gone, ripped away
They stole you away
With their knife's sharp edge
And my grief will live forever
