Array ( [sid] => 19804 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Last night [time] => 2003-07-02 03:35:00 [hometext] => you make so many promises of staying in touch ...and never forgetting when in a couple of years....you know your promises will never last, just enjoy yourself well you can. [bodytext] => Last night was the night we fell asleep under the stars
we watched them as they were so peacfully strown across the sky
It was our last night, before we were off
today is our celebration
The last real time in this building
The last day of our elementary career
Next year new building, new faces
The memory's of these years will be held somewhere deep within us.
But as more time passes
new memory's
arrive and the old ones sink deeper
they just seem o fade
some of us wont be here next year...
and its sad in this world of up's and down's ...and we've only just begun
member the time and the time after that
chirrped the butterflys that sign our yearbooks
Today is the day we make pacts to never forget. But don't dwell on the past
Celebrate today for what it is
and with who is there
because last night reminded me so much of the first day of the rest of my life...and i'll admit ...I cried
and with those tears
how can you forget?
you'd be surprized
and that's why it still hurts. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 178 [topic] => 35 [informant] => Jilli_Bean [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SpecialOccassion )

Jill... it has been a while since I commented, talked to you... or even thought about poetry. So much has happened this summer and I feel like you and I are drifting so this poem... it really made sense to me.

That "one night" seemed to last forever but the next morning... different school, new faces... and it's hard to over come that but we have too and no matter what... know that I am always just a phone call away and that no matter how far I drift from my poetry... it's always there.

A true friend... Amy
