[hometext] => sometimes we don't know who controls our fingers as we rhythmically glide them across our keyboards- this poem '73 Pesos' is one of those. I really don't know where it came from, but after reading and re-reading the poem, it got to be a real story about a sad woman named Rosa. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [bodytext] => the steamy heat kept customers off the street but Rosa sat by her shuttered shack as curlicues of smoke sat stagnant in the air men weren't there she really didn't care just one, that's all it'd take so she waited with sweat between her legs dry dirt whirls at her feet as a car comes to a stop she licks her lips and gets up they want directions to L'umbre the sun is down she waits with beer in hand and a cheap floral fan waiting to earn some peso the sky opened up so she went in her house rain falling on tin was so loud she barely heard the knock she jumped up whipping her skirt playfully like a matadore their sweat combined to be one 73 pesos by the nightstand with beer, cigarettes and a cheap floral fan she went out again when the sun came up [comments] => 3 [counter] => 225 [topic] => 32 [informant] => starshine [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )
