Array ( [sid] => 19505 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => good-bye [time] => 2003-06-24 03:05:00 [hometext] => Dedicated to Floyd “Shorty” Hitchcock
I’ll love and miss you always.
[bodytext] => As they rounded the bases
You saw their smiling faces
You laughed with glee
And looked at me

Seeing your glow
Taught me everything I know
You taught me how to love
You lent me your glove

With your smile you took my heart
But then we became a part
You seemed like a dancer
Then I heard you got cancer

I thought that everything was okay
That you would find a way
To return to your ways
Even if it took days

I thought you were fine
That you would return to dine
Somewhere in the woods
You would bring the goods

But everything wasn’t fine
And you would never return for that dine
Were you tough
Did you have enough

I hope you didn’t suffer
You taught me to be tougher
I’ll never forget you
Even though I don’t know what to do

I never got a chance to say bye
Before you had to die
Angels needed you in the sky
So this is how I have to say good - bye

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
