Baby's Worst Nightmare

I wish I had a rattle
so that I could shake my hand,
And listen to the noise inside
created by the sand,
If the rattle breaks apart
and sand gets on the floor,
Then mama'll surely take me
and she'll throw me out the door.
I wish I had a ball
That I could throw against the wall.
It would bounce it on the floor
and then the wall a little more,
The problem I encountered
is an adult took my ball
And he threw it in a way that
made it bounce right out the door.
I wish I had a choo choo,
I could run it on the track.
It would race from out my bedroom
to the parlor then come back.
You can bet some adult took it
and he dropped it on it's head,
I did try it and retry it
but the engine..it was dead.
Now the word is out..I heard
We're dependent on our folks,
That without them we'd be lost
and that we need those bloomin' blokes,
Be it yea or be it nay,
I now will tell you how I feel,
A rattle, ball and engine
I'd have had with which to deal.
