Array ( [sid] => 18989 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => One More Day Closer to You [time] => 2003-06-13 19:25:00 [hometext] => This poem doesnt rhyme but it is more of a fantasy story [bodytext] => I heard you in my dreams late last night
You told me to hurry and get up, to run to you
I didn’t think I had what it took to run to you so late
I would be amongst the werewolves, the vampires, the unexplainable
But most of all I would leave myself vulnerable to you
I jump from my bed and run my safety in my log cabin
I run over the damp cool grass to a forest who’s floor is covered with moss
feeling the earth soften to my feet’s touch makes me more anxious to see you
I run down the earth made stone walk way with the trees grabbing at my hair and clothing
The sweet smell of honey suckle mixed with pine, I know I am almost there
I stop at the edge of the cliff and look franticly for you
I know now it was only a dream you weren’t here waiting
I look over the gentle stream so far below the cliff as I hang my head and begin to weep
I wonder to myself how long this will go on when will I stop dreaming of my love
Feeling a swift grazing touch on my arm I inhale and know you are close
I close my eyes savoring this moment of your touch that makes my heart beat faster
The wind picks up and a flock of birds scatter in the dawning hours
I feel your arms wrap around my waist as you whisper in my ear, I’m here with you
I inhale you, your sent of fresh honey suckle mixed with pine
I turn around to face you to face the man in my dreams for the first time
The wind dies, the sent becomes faint and you are not there looking back at me
My heart begins to ache again and I know you have left me
I feel your sweet gentle kiss on my cheek like a rose petal
You say you have to go now but you will return when the time is right
I hear your feet on the ground running away like deer at play
I hold myself in satisfaction that I have came closer to meeting you
The sun beating down on the open of the forest where I stand
I turn to walk back the direction I came, the way i came
But this time knowing I am not alone you are here by my side blessing every step [comments] => 3 [counter] => 223 [topic] => 43 [informant] => daydreamer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )
