the intersections of life almost ended me
now there is something i want you to see
life as we know, has its ups and downs
but im here to say its worth sticking around
the pain that you feel, i know is all too real
right now your not living with any kind of zeal
i will not say, to stay here it is your duty
but you will surely miss out on so much beauty

how will you ever truely know all seasons
when to the world you give these reasons
great things that seem so very far away
will truely come to you on another day
i once was exactly right where you are
and i don't mean the accident in the car
life is a precious gift, i know this today
and i wouldn't live it any other way

no matter your age life can make you sad
its not 'cause your young, old, good or bad
have you ever stopped to wonder this;
out there is someone that what you have they so wish
that they too could walk, sing, write, hear, see, speak
but they cannot for their bodies are weak
some people are hanging on by a thread
but the last thing they want is to be dead

it is worth the wait to see a pink sunset
from someone special, that hugg you will get
the song of the birds singing how life is sweet
many memories you can make and always keep
life is funny how it changes so quickly
it needs not your hand to end it, so much yet to see
for after every fall there is an inevitable climb
no matter whats happened; believe me life can be sublime

death may seem romantic; surely then all will know
that you hated your life and wanted to go
but think about after, what will it be?
what if there's something you now do not see?
what if you had to live your life again all over?
and there wasn't pleasures, like things you now know
consider these things before taking deaths quick kiss
...could be true about karma and conscienceness...

I am older than most people on this site.
I would not have given up a day of my life
and now..I'll fight for every new one.
This rendition of your thinking is inspiring.
Go, ye who would kill yourself..learn from
nessa who loves life and those around her.

Hear hear nessa . I'm nearing 80 now wake each morning and smile. I've been gikven yet another day to enjoy

I had a death experience when I was a pilot in the RAF facing the inevitable crash the body just switched off everything. The screen went blank.

Thats kind in a way. Your soul could not keep carrying life after life aftter life

My dear friend, only one who has been there can truly express as you have. So glad you are here to help us all and chose the right path for yourself, in helping us who feel despair and hopelessness. You have overcome, we can too!! Love.

Thank you for posting this, and it took me a long time to find it, one month. But as I sit here now, it was worth the wait. You see, I never knew what stayed my hand, all four times. I never knew why I couldn't go through... but now I do. Your poem has shown me that it was because I couldn't risk losing out because I gave up. And I cry now as I realize it. My fighter's spirit saved my life. Thank you again, for posting this poem. Thank you for having the inspiration to write this. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Wish i had read that about 2 years ago, then the thoughts would have never crossed my mind and i wouldnt have stood there with a knife in hand thinking of it, but just didnt have the guts, a blessing in disguise i know now.

A truely remarkable write full of compassion and emotion the way poetry should be, a masterpiece of time this is without question

i often think about suicide and wanting to commit it, and i have to disagree that the poem helps. it just raises more questions in an already unsettled mind. questions like "how do you know life is worth it?" "are the memories ever gonna be good ones? if not then why bother making any?" "should i really stick around and make everyone else sad just so i can be happy for a little while?" and "just because you're happy doesn't mean i will ever be, is it really worth it?" it is a great poem, but to everyone that thinks it helps: your pro'ly living a good life and not even realizing it. you're also pro'ly afraid of death
