[hometext] => Written from the perspective of a shoe
[bodytext] => Under a shadow
and the rooster’s crow,
we used to tread
and carry, to thread
our path through morning dew
(we shoes too were once bright and new
in that whispering light).
The things you had right,
I’ve always had left –
and so we crept,
swaying and kicking like twins,
until we wore our soles thin
with all our familiar opposites.
Hope you still remember it -
that time before we were old
and thrown away into the cold.
You know, I still do.
And I still hope to find you
with wears and tears that wrinkle into smiles.
And amongst memories of the miles
that once weighed upon us as much as our human -
I really wish to carry someone with you again.
Imagine walking, just walking, together and all,
one shoe after the other.

Now this is why I love the art of poetry. .. to breathe life into words and make the impossible possible. You turned a pair of shoes into something with soul (or is that SOLE? 😉).
Not only does it make sense, but it was really beautiful to read.
I love this:
//And I still hope to find you
with wears and tears that wrinkle into smiles.//
Great work. Welcome to YPDC. I look forward to more of your work.
Thanks for sharing.

I do
I do
Great write!
I stumbled upon
a bee hive and ran
as fast as I could
all the way home.
I was so terribly
wounded I thought,
and my mother was
there, and she was
a nurse, and she
carefully placed
a thick mixture of water
and baking soda
all over my legs and
feet.
The shoes were white
basketball types,
they were a big surprise
since my mom
had little money
I thought they were
so great.
You could walk
in anything
even in bare
feet, and still
be okay,
my mom would
say.
I just wish I could
write a good
poem like
this.
I really do.
Peace!
