[bodytext] => the purest love from smallest hearts
entangles me in ways uncharted
that promise wasn’t hard to make
or keep; I’m here; I haven’t faded
of all the ghosts that have come and gone
your absence still echoes on and on
those moments knock the breath right out of me
and I can’t help but wish that history would lie to me
every scathing glance
your cruelest stance
those savage hands
the truth you bury
weight I carried
steps so wary
I know it’s nothing that he needs
but for an instant, logic recedes
it kills me that you’re missing it
that you made the choice to up and quit
and as all this time passes so fast
I still have to remind myself that
this was nothing you wanted from the start
and there was never more than a day he was in your heart
so we move forward
though disordered
onward and upward
we’ve moved through the fear
you disappeared
but I’ll stay right here

Great poem.
Seen myself in this one.
Life isn/'/t a box of chocolates. Is it? |

an imperfect title to a retched illustration
horrible abuse.
It would be easy to figure this wrong
if you weren/'/t young and defenseless.
Or to anyone who is defenseless at any
given time.
The victims are sadly more than a few.
Even the dad, who abused his own daughter,
who would never say anything, and later
had to care for him, and say nothing to her
mother, who likely knew.
Nowadays, things just still happen.
My mom was golden, I thought.
She never said a word about it.
I only learned later on, about my
Grandfather.
And to think about all the things she
did for me. All the blue days I had
that she made bright.
You know all the Jane Austin books,
and all this stuff about history,
She was a nurse. Gifted and able
to understand enough about healing
She was a great writer too,
Just like you Moonlit.
Peace!
