[bodytext] => Bleat bleat,
wood rods and cardboard
the climax of rumbled bleating,
a satisfied bleat, a flex, a show
of first amendment rights to bleat;
how neat, to bleat, and nothing more.
Tagged as dogs through zeros and ones,
to some, such bleating quite the bore,
though woe to us should marriage find
amendments one and two,
those few mattering ears grown weary
of our bleat,
now brandishing, now real,
will remove their grinning mask, at last
as bleats silence under the iron heel.

This should be read to the background of military marching bootsteps. It sneaks up on me...beginning softly and then tapping impatiently,..and then rumbling with annoyed knuckles..until finally we the children are squashed under the boot. Silenced as the end of the poem finds us.
You have compared government to a frustrated parent who finally overreacts when their patience is spent. A scary thought, your cadence has wrought.

a toothless mob,
the people who first
came here as indentured
slave,
where, Toledo, where,
Jamestown, just where,
what toothless voices
were allowed to speak.
What would they say, bleat,
all they knew, they just
were not educated
and could not speak
well, because they
had no teeth,
because they were
only indentured slave,
because they were dogs
Well they were, the dogs
of any wars,
well healed and never
ever won,
like you and me
Invierno,
like you and me.
you know this is
better than most of the stuff
I write. I spell really bad
and forget to edit.
You and me,
and I would bet most
people in the past,
most people in the present,
hopefully not the future,
feel at least in some important
way, like we two.

I would love to hear your perspectives
and this way we can talk
manifest destiny
my friend
Peace! |

I feel your pain in this one. Trust me. I think it/'/s time for the mob to see a dentist and to march to the drums of the tax payers.Until we all stand up and demand our voice nothing will change. Great write.
Got me pumped. |
