His laugh born from a chuckle
as the bus slid to a hissing stop.
People entered, people left,
the air vacated then re-filled without a smile.
Laughing harder,
a maniacal edge fueled on the fear,
the madness that
eyes should widen around him;
mothers holding their children closer;
“He could do anything!” plain on their faces.
Two hissing stop and goes of laughter was
the limit of The Grim.
A tight white jacket and short drive later,
the laughing man couldn’t stop
as open eyes viewed unvarnished,
the constructed, grim
reality where continuous laughter is not permitted.

So true!

Great write.

the way surreal
words, wisdom, laughter,
adorned almost enigmatically
find us them the world
they then who knows how
to even sit or stand
or think or to contemplate
wild natural irrational
outcome
how could one describe
U can only think if you
are a writer
or someone who was
there

firsthand

Peace!

Individuals are easy targets. They stand out among the masses, and cause others to be fearful and cautious. They are not what we know.
Fear keeps us a passive society. Those who depart from the norm must live in a world of nervous laughter. And as you point out, we must be careful not to misinterpret.
