Does anyone even care to open a book
To simply read or even take a look
In this world we are no longer smitten

We rely on mass media to inform us. But books do that, and they entertain as well. I like turning pages, the fragrance of the paper, the feel of the leather binding in my hand. Virtual reality is an oxymoron!
Try curling up with a good computer sometime.
Thank you for calling us back to this ancient form of communication, as newspapers and periodicals fade from existence. Computers continue to be the Walmart of the publishing business. |

You write of a shared frustration, James. I like the Poe reference, being a fan and all. SLC is also a writer I revere. hanks for sharing your mind and opinion. We jive.

//Yeah, maybe for some people. All you have to do is come here and you can read the smitten written word.
I am, in fact, a bit smitten by this poem.
Thank you for stating something with some finesse. Now that`s what`s wrong with a lot of people. Stating an opinion with // no // finesse.

//P.S. Derek Saint Holmes has an album entitled Then & Now. Now // that`s// a coincidence I did not expect after reading Hey Baby.
No worries vast amount of titles duplicate. I remember when I was a young ape with no hair, I looked up songs entitled Sweet Revenge. There were too many to count. This was before the internet and search engines. Could you imagine now? Hmmm, that just gave me a thought.
Thanks again, TimmyJimmy!
