Just like you, to garner fame.
Heres some names we hear each day;
And how they came to be that way!

HAAGEN DAZS sounds Danish;
They chose it carefully;
But its absurd! There’s no such word!
Its fake, entirely!

Richard Branson didn’t know;
How to run an airline so;
He chose a name that said that best;
And VIRGIN AIRLINES scored a yes.

American Family Life Assurance (of Columbus) knew;
A shorter name and mascot would make them look brand new!
Remember what they used to be when you hear that quack;
They changed their luck with Peking duck and named themselves AFLAC.

Pacific Aero Products was a vague name not worth knowing;
Now its sounder, named for founder: Mr. William BOEING.

When you add 100 zeros to the number one;
You have whats called a googel; math rule number one!
Since all computers talk in ones and zeros when they speak;
They hoped youd think of GOOGLE to find the things you seek.

“AGE OF BREAD” Ron Shaich said, Ill call my company;
And that is why PAN-ERA Breads was named so perfectly!

In 69 they made a line of jeans for kids alone;
They named it GAP, to warn us that;
The grown-ups should stay home!

He cooked the books for Al Capone;
And then his son was born;
He quit the gang; they shot him, bang!
But wait, don’t go, theres more.

His son grew up without him;
The Medal of Honor bore;
An aero squadron leader;
His plane shot down in war.

If youre ever in Chicago, youll fly the skies he flew;
The airport there is called O’HARE, named, dear Butch for you.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Storys over, time to go, hope this makes you want to know;
Why we call things as we do! Maybe look up one or two!
Good night, so long, good hunting too!

I think you have a crack team of researchers at your disposal. How fun was that!
I have some interesting trivia for conversation.
You are a teacher at heart, aside the poet thing.
